Mrs. Sheila Turbes, Library-Media Specialist
Welcome to the library! I'm so lucky to be able to work with all the students and teachers at St. Cecilia's to foster the love of books and to engage in STEAM related activities that engage all learners. After 33 years as an Omaha Public Schools teacher, I'm fortunate enough to land back at St. Cecilia's where my lifelong love of learning began. In addition to being a graduate of the grade school and Cathedral High School, my daughters Claire and Emma also both graduated from St. Cecilia's.
I received my Bachelors of Arts in Education from Wayne State College and my Masters of Science in Education from UNO and was a reading teacher in OPS.
In my spare time, I naturally love to read, take long walks with our Aussiedoodle, Ollie, play with our two miniature poodles, Dally and Kappy, swim, and visit with friends. Since both Claire and Emma live in Denver, my husband Bernie and I try and get up to Colorado to relax and catch up with our girls as often as possible. We also collect glassware year round for the Dime Pitch booth at Cathedralfest and are always happy to take those off your hand for you!
